Summer Making Warm Exit In Washington

High temperatures will be above normal for the next few days in the state, making the exit of summer and start of fall memorable.

Forecasters said a high pressure system moving over the Northwest will bring sunshine and unusually warm temperatures in the 80s for the last day of summer Monday and the first day of autumn Tuesday.

KIRO 7 Meteorologist Sam Argier said the temperatures are running about 15 degrees above average.

Wednesday's record high of 84 degrees at Sea-Tac could be in jeopardy of being broken, he said.

Cooler air filters back in on Thursday bringing a few more clouds in the picture with temperatures in the upper 60s.

Friday will bring mostly sunny skies and a high of 70 degrees.

No rain is in the forecast all the way through the weekend, Argier said.
