SEATTLE —

Despite cloudy skies, the temperature reached 70 degrees today in Seattle -- again.

KIRO 7 Weather Anchor Rob Mayeda says that's a record 50 straight days with temperatures of 70 or higher.

With warmer, clearing weather forecast through Labor Day weekend the stretch should continue into September.

Temperatures in the 70's are normal through the summer in Seattle, but it's unusual for a stretch to go uninterrupted for seven weeks. Temperatures have been a couple of degrees above normal, probably because of the lack of rain.

Seattle has had less than an inch of rain -- .89 -- since June 1.
