Seahawks Pro-Bowl LB Tatupu Arrested For DWI

POSTED: 2:37 pm PDT May 13, 2008

(Sports Network) - Seattle Seahawks linebacker Lofa Tatupu was arrested Saturday for investigation of driving while intoxicated, according to the Seattle Times.

Tatupu was arrested in Kirkland, Washington early Saturday morning after a police officer observed his car driving in excess of 50 mph in a 35-mph zone.

According to the newspaper, Tatupu submitted to field-sobriety tests, but declined to take a portable Breathalyzer. He was arrested, handcuffed without incident and taken to the police station.

His blood-alcohol concentration was measured at 0.155 and 0.158, nearly double the legal limit of 0.08.

Tatupu, 25, has played three seasons in Seattle and been chosen for the Pro Bowl each time.
