Predators C Arnott Leaves Game On Stretcher

Posted: 9:02 pm PST November 17, 2008

(Sports Network) - Nashville Predators captain Jason Arnott left Monday's 4-1 loss to the San Jose Sharks on a stretcher late in the first period.

Arnott, 34, was driving hard toward the crease when he was bumped by San Jose's Joe Pavelski, lost his balance and crashed head-first into the net, where he remained motionless for several minutes. He was then placed on a stretcher and carried off the ice with 2.4 seconds remaining.

He was taken to Vanderbilt Hospital for precautionary reasons and released prior to the completion of the contest. Arnott will be re-evaluated in the coming days.

A first-round pick (seventh overall) by Edmonton in the 1993 draft, Arnott entered Monday with eight goals and seven assists in 14 games this season.
