EVERETT, Wash. -- Fares on Community Transit buses are higher.

Local rides went up 25 cents, to $1.50, effective Oct. 1. Dial-a-Ride Transportation transit also now costs $1.50.

The south commuter bus jumps 50 cents to $3.50, and buses heading north and east are up 50 cents to $4.50.

There was no increase senior or disabled fares on any of the bus services.

The change is Community Transit’s first for commuter fares since 2000.
