Since 1981, the Seattle location of Comedy Underground has been splitting the sides of audiences with a variety of stand-up shows. The club's schedule is full of open-mic nights, showcases, comedy benefits, and performances by the new generation of stand-up comics. Many established comedians received laughs while performing at Seattle Comedy Underground early in their careers, including Steven Wright, Jerry Seinfeld, and Ellen Degeneres. Comedy Underground is located in Swannies restaurant, located on S. Washington Street and is adjacent to Occidental Park. Because of its location inside the restaurant, the comedy club offers a full menu of casual American food and a full bar. From Sunday to Thursday, Comedy Underground offers all ages stand-up shows, as well as stand-up classes and an open mic night on Mondays. The week's scheduled headliners emerge on Fridays and Saturdays, bringing audiences to tears with two shows a night.
