The Crocodile (formerly known as The Crocodile Cafe) has a rich musical history in Seattle. For nearly 20 years, The Crocodile has been scheduling local and mainstream musicians that have put on acclaimed shows. With superior sound equipment, an ample stage, and casual atmosphere, the club has become a popular destination for musicians around the country. A full bar and wood fired pizza add even more to The Crocodile's widespread appeal, and gives music lovers even more reasons to stop on by.

The club opened in 1991 as The Crocodile Cafe and quickly became a hotspot for local music. The club's original owner married R.E.M.'s Peter Buck, who became a co-owner and brought the venue additional credibility. Many infamous Seattle bands were scheduled at The Crocodile in its early days, including Nirvana, Alice In Chains, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, and The Presidents of the United States of America. Dorgan divorced Buck in 2006 and the club suddenly closed in 2007, leaving many Seattle regulars upset. However, a group of musicians -- including Sean Kinney from Alice in Chains -- purchased the club, gave it a renovation, renamed it The Crocodile, and reopened the club in 2009.

The Crocodile is the ideal and one of the most popular places in Seattle to find established and local live music. With an event schedule full of something for everybody, anytime is a good time to visit The Crocodile.
