There's little argument anymore about the Earth getting hotter. The real questions are: how much of this climatic change is natural, how much are we contributing to the problem and what are we willing to do, both individually and collectively, to slow the meltdown? We look at geologic signs of "The Big Thaw" in the Northwest (i.e. melting glaciers, shrinking fisheries, oceanic changes, disintegrating forests, predictions about decline in snowfall). But to do this right, we need dramatic pictures and stories to show the viewer this is real. Good examples would be the annual breakup of sea ice off the coast of Alaska (which happens weeks earlier than it once did) and the warming of Barrows, Alaska, the northern most city in the US where the temperature has risen about 5 degrees and sea level has risen 8 inches in the past 3 decades. Many scientists from the University of Washington are studying these and other ecological challenges. We'll search for more examples closer to home. Global warming isn't a belief system as it once was; it has become an observable scientific fact. We'll learn what we in the Northwest need to know about Global Warming.

She quickly makes an impression on the other members of Leonard and Sheldon's geek squad — Howard Wolowitz (Simon Helberg, "Studio 60 on the Sunset Strip"), who portrays himself as the Casanova of Cal Tech, and fellow whiz kid Rajesh Koothrappali (Kunal Nayyar, "NCIS"), who is rendered speechless around anyone unprepared to converse about the Theory of Relativity or other scientific jargon. The chemistry between this gaggle of geniuses and a delightful damsel is about to undergo a stimulating series of inter-personal experiments. Multiple Emmy Award winner James Burrows ("Will & Grace") directed the pilot. Lorre and Bill Prady ("Gilmore Girls," "Dharma & Greg") are executive producers for Warner Bros. Television.

CBS's Emmy-Award winning "The Price is Right," with new host Drew Carey, will have its 36th season premiere on Monday, October 15th. Carey was recently named host of television's long-running game show, succeeding former host Bob Barker, who retired in June after 35 years on the show. The new season will start out with some exciting wins, as several contestants make some lucky spins on the big Wheel. Others have the chance to win some of the most expensive cars ever given away on the show, as well as trips to exotic locations and more amazing prizes. In addition, the familiar set has been refreshed to give it an updated look while keeping the recognizable "Price is Right" theme and appearance. Carey, a stand-up comic turned actor and producer who is best known for having two hit shows simultaneously — "The Drew Carey Show" and "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" — is also the host of the Network's "Power Of 10," a high-stakes, primetime game show where contestants compete for the chance to win $10 million. He was also a producer and host of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" which continues to air in syndication.
