Super Bowl Officials

Posted: Feb. 6, 2007
Question:
Steve, Did you notice this year the official did not call holding, pass interfrence, illegal blocks in the first half and most of the game? Only hard not to call false starts or personal fouls. Is this the league way of saying last year's Super Bowl officiating clearly cost the Seahawks the game? -Bill

Answer:
It may be the league's way of letting the players decide the game on the field. It's also a function of two disciplined teams that haven't gotten a lot of penalties during the regular season. Either way, I thought it was a well-officiated game and the best team won.

Will The Hawks Return To The Big Game?

Posted: Feb. 6, 2007
Question:
Do you feel the seahawks have a chance, with the schedule they have next year playing all division winners?

Answer:
There's always hope. But two things will have to change from the season just ended: the team must be more consistent and can't have all the injuries it experienced this season. Traveling to Carolina, Pittsburgh, and Philly among others..and playing the likes of Chicago, Baltimore, and New Orleans here at home, makes '07 significantly more difficult. But for the most part, this is the same team that went to the Super Bowl last year. Here's hoping for a return trip.

Free Agent Market

Posted: Feb. 6, 2007
Question:
With no first round pick, do you think the Seahawks will be active in the free agent market? Who would you like to see them go after?

Answer:
I think the Hawks WILL be players in free agency in the offseason. Several position I think they'll pursue: Defensive line and cornerback are 2 positions I believe they can add depth. But no position is off limits.
