No matter how much or how little money someone has, everyone needs an affordable place to live. Over 60,000
households in King County pay more than 30% of their income for rent.
Housing our Community is a partnership between the nonprofit members of the Housing Development Consortium of Seattle-King County, the Master Builders Association of King and Snohomish Counties representing over 3,600 companies building and remodeling homes, the Seattle-King County Association of REALTORS® representing over 6,800 REALTOR® professionals in the Puget Sound region, and the Washington State Housing Finance Commission. Working together, they're meeting our region's housing needs. Building homes. Providing apartments and shelter. Selling homes. Helping buyers understand credit and financing options. Matching people with their dream home and making the American dream of home ownership happen. The members of each of these groups are professionals: dedicated to quality and committed to the people they serve.
As the premiere trade association for nonprofit housing developers in the area, Housing Development Consortium
works to increase the housing choices available for low- and moderate-income
individuals and families with children, seniors, low-income working families, and persons with special housing
needs. Its members have developed and preserved over 16,000 units of affordable housing throughout the state.
