Chiefs Cut Veteran T McIntosh, Seven Others

Kansas City, MO -- (Sports Network) - The Kansas City Chiefs cut veteran tackle Damion McIntosh and seven others on Friday.The 32-year-old McIntosh, a 10-year veteran out of Kansas State, joined the Chiefs as an unrestricted free agent in March of 2007 after spending the previous three NFL seasons with Miami. He started 31 games with Kansas City in the 2007 and 2008 seasons, including 16 at right tackle and 15 at the left tackle position. Originally drafted by San Diego in the third round (83rd selection) in the 2000 draft, McIntosh played his first four years with the Chargers and appeared in 115 career regular season contests -- 111 starts. Kansas City also let go five-year veteran center Eric Ghiaciuc, who started all 16 games with Cincinnati in 2008. The 27-year-old played all four of his NFL seasons with the Bengals, appearing in 48 contests and starting 42 of them. Other cuts included cornerbacks Travis Daniels and Londen Fryar, fullback Jed Collins, linebacker Corey Smith and offensive linemen Herb Taylor and Tavares Washington.
