Owens Sits Again On Thursday

Posted: 3:26 pm PST November 12, 2009

(Sports Network) - Buffalo Bills wide receiver Terrell Owens missed practice for the second consecutive day Thursday with a strained hip.

Owens' injury apparently came in practice as Bills head coach Dick Jauron indicated Wednesday the team's prized offseason acquisition was fine on Monday.

"[Owens] practiced on Monday and [the hip] wasn't bothering him," Jauron said. "On Tuesday, late in the afternoon, it really started to bother him. He came in immediately and got treatment for it. Right now, it's pretty uncomfortable. We're hoping it goes away as quickly as it can."

Owens' status for Sunday's game in Tennessee has yet to be determined.

In his first season with Buffalo, Owens has failed to reproduce his All Pro numbers through his first eight games. The 35-year-old has just one touchdown and 23 catches for 281 yards. The 35.1 yards-per-game average is his lowest since his rookie year (1996).

Also missing practice Thursday were cornerback Terrence McGee (knee), linebacker Keith Ellison (quadriceps), defensive end Aaron Schobel (groin) and defensive tackle Kyle Williams (knee).
