Orlando Magic (9-3) At Boston Celtics (9-3), 8 P.M.
(Sports Network) - A pair of Eastern Conference heavyweights square off tonight in Beantown, where the Orlando Magic will take on the Boston Celtics at TD Garden in a rematch from last year's playoffs. Orlando defeated Boston in seven games in the second round of the playoffs last year, and has won three straight overall to push its mark to 9-3. The Magic went 3-1 on a four-game homestand and recorded a 108-94 triumph versus Oklahoma City on Wednesday from Amway Arena. Vince Carter led the victors with 18 points, while Rashard Lewis narrowly missed a triple-double with 17 points, 10 rebounds and nine assists for Orlando, which is favored again to make a deep run in the postseason. Mickael Pietrus scored 14 points, while Ryan Anderson registered 12 points and Dwight Howard added 11 and 10 boards in a wining effort. "That was a good game to see right there," Magic head coach Stan Van Gundy said. "I thought we came with a lot of energy right from the get-go and sustained it pretty darn well for three quarters. We had a brief low really early in the third but we played three quarters with very, very good energy at both ends of the court so really happy with that. I thought Vince (Carter) really went on the attack tonight and was very aggressive offensively." Van Gundy's squad will also visit Toronto and is 3-2 as the guest this season. Boston, meanwhile, ended a two-game slide with a 109-95 victory versus Golden State on Wednesday. Rajon Rondo contributed 18 points, 12 assists and seven rebounds to lead a balanced attack. Paul Pierce scored 19 points and both Kendrick Perkins and Ray Allen each added 15 for Boston, which got 12 points and six boards out of Kevin Garnett. "I thought he changed the momentum of the game," Garnett said of Rondo. "I thought he was a lot more solid than the first half. He consolidated the ball. He was aggressive. He picked up the energy, started picking up full court, like he just changed the whole momentum. I just think he set the tone for the second half." The Celtics are 5-2 as the host this season. Orlando and Boston split four meetings during the regular season last year, while Magic have dropped 12 of 15 and 17 of their last 21 at TD Garden.
