(Sports Network) - The Minnesota Timberwolves hope to snap an ugly, 12-game losing streak in Hollywood Monday when they take on the Los Angeles Clippers at Staples Center.

The lowly Wolves dropped the opener of a quick, two-game west coast trip and fell to 0-6 on the road in Portland on Saturday. Martell Webster topped six Blazers players in double figures with 21 points while bringing down 13 rebounds in that one, as Portland handed Minnesota its 12th straight loss in a 106-78 blowout at the Rose Garden.

Al Jefferson had 20 points and 10 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who shot a brutal 37.7 percent from the field but made all 18 foul shots. Oleksiy Pecherov added 12 points and 10 boards to the setback.

"We're not secure as a team, we're not together as a team, we don't have enough experience as a team that whenever we get into those tight situations, we know what to do," said T'Wolves head coach Kurt Rambis.

Minnesota has dropped the 12 straight since winning its season opener, 95-93, against New Jersey on Oct. 28. A loss tonight would equal the Timberwolves' longest skid from last season, a 13-game slide from late November through Christmas.

The Clippers, meanwhile, are coming off on their most impressive wins of the season, a 106-99 triumph over Denver on Friday. Rasual Butler scored a season- high 27 points to help LA take down the Nuggets in that one.

Al Thornton scored 18, and Chris Kaman delivered 13 points, seven rebounds and six assists for Los Angeles, which snapped a seven-game losing streak to Denver for only its second win in the last seven games.

Baron Davis checked in with 12 points, a game-best nine assists and six rebounds.

"We knew they were going to make a run and we were able to re-focus. I just wanted to come out and give us some energy off the bench," Butler said.

THe Clips snapped a two-game skid to Minnesota with a hard-fought 93-90 win at Staples Center earlier this month.
