(Sports Network) - A pair of struggling squads get together this evening in the nation's capital, as the Washington Wizards take on the Philadelphia 76ers from the Verizon Center.

Washington has lost two in a row and eight of nine games to fall to 3-9 on the season. The losing ways continued in Saturday's 106-84 setback at San Antonio, as Gilbert Arenas did the best he could to avoid a 10-game slide in the Alamo City with a game-best 18 points.

Antawn Jamison recorded 15 points and seven rebounds for the Wizards, who fell to 1-6 away from DC this season.

"We haven't been able to put everything together," said Wizards head coach Flip Saunders. "Players are playing tight, players are playing frustrated, you have players that aren't playing that feel that they should be playing...we're just in a bad situation right now."

In injury news for Washington, forward Caron Butler (foot/ankle) is questionable for Tuesday's game. Butler had eight points against the Spurs.

Philadelphia head coach Eddie Jordan will take on his former employer Tuesday after he was fired last November during his sixth season with the Wizards. He helped the club to four straight playoff appearances from 2005-08. Jordan was hired by the 76ers in June and has the club off to a subpar 5-8 start.

The Sixers have lost two straight and six of their last eight games, including Saturday's 97-91 setback at Cleveland in the opener of a three-game road trip. Lou Williams paced the Sixers with 22 points, while Thaddeus Young contributed 21 in a losing ways.

Elton Brand recorded a double-double with 18 points and 14 rebounds for Philadelphia, which is 2-4 on the road this season and will also visit Atlantic Division-rival Boston on the trek.

"We rose to the challenge," Jordan said after the Cavs game. "I like the way we executed...We just didn't win the game."

Philadelphia took all four meetings with Washington last season and has won six of the last seven encounters. The Wizards have won seven of the past 10 as the host in this series.
