Chris Egert has been part of the KIRO 7 Eyewitness News team since 2007, and currently anchors KIRO7 Eyewitness News at 4:30 a.m., 5 a.m. and 6 a.m.
Chris' job is unique as he's one of the only Monday through Friday anchors in this area who gets a chance to go out and talk to people in the community about the news. It helps give him a better perspective when he's on the anchor desk.
From the studio, he's anchored unscripted live coverage of the Dreamliner's first flight, our snowstorms of 2008, numerous presidential visits, and breaking coverage the Sunday morning in 2009 four Lakewood police officers were murdered at a coffee shop in Parkland.
In the field he really enjoys covering daily news items, and has also done a tremendous amount of work on in-depth news reports about aerospace and Boeing, and a five-part series on the health of Puget Sound.
Chris and his family are very involved in the community, not only with his work for the Western Washington March of Dimes, but the various activities and events at his childrens' schools.
