Kristi Paulus
North Sound Bureau Reporter
Kristi Paulus is the North Sound Bureau Reporter for KIRO 7 Eyewitness News. She joined the KIRO news team in April 2008. Kristi is no stranger to Western Washington. She spent part of her childhood in the Tacoma area and has family all over the region. For most of her life, California was home, but the Pacific Northwest called her back in 2000, when she went to work as a reporter at Seattle station Q13 FOX. Kristi spent five years at Q13, covering news events all over the region, including the 2001 riot in Pioneer Square, and the Nisqually earthquake that shook Western Washington the very next morning. Previous to that Kristi worked at KTXL in Sacramento, KTVU in Oakland, and started her career at KCOY in Santa Maria, California. Kristi graduated from the British Columbia Institute of Technology in 1995, where she studied Broadcast Communications. For the past three years, Kristi has taken a break from news to attend to the other important work in her life, raising her young daughter. Kristi and her family spent the past three years in her husband's hometown of Adelaide, Australia. As much as she enjoyed the weather and lifestyle Down Under, Kristi couldn't stay away from the news business or the USA any longer. She is thrilled to be home in the Pacific Northwest, and is honored to have the priviledge of telling the stories of the people who live here. Kristi lives in Snohomish County, with her daughter, husband and cat.
