VACATION RELIEF PART-TIME IGNITE DIRECTOR
KIRO-TV is looking for a vacation relief Ignite director for newscasts and production. A qualified candidate will be able to work closely with newscast producers and production staff on daily newscasts. Applicants must have experience directing live newscasts. Experience with Ignite, Overdrive or other newscast automation software a plus. A thorough understanding of the Kayak switcher and Sidepanel application is important. The applicant must be able to adapt quickly to changes in live shows. Must be familiar with entire production process and be able to communicate clearly with staff. This is a temporary part-time position.
OVERNIGHT ASSIGNMENT EDITOR
This individual will be responsible for overnight news coverage, especially breaking news. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: monitoring scanners, answering newsroom phones, making calls to police and fire depts., dispatching reporters and photographers, assisting producers and writers. The overnight assignment editor is required to write and post breaking news stories to the newsroom website, KIROTV.COM. The overnight editor must work well with other managers in achieving newsroom goals. Qualified applicants must demonstrate leadership. Other requirements are the ability to multi-task, strong computer skills, good news judgment, and ability to clearly communicate. Experience on major market assignment desk and some college is preferred. A knowledge of the Puget Sound region’s geography, politics and history is a definite plus.
CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
This position provides support for the sales team and traffic department in the areas of interdepartmental relations, client services, computer data generation, general sales projections and overall administrative assistance. Qualifications include effective time management skills; close attention to detail; knowledge of software such as Word and Excel; and a professional appearance and attitude. Four-year degree in marketing or communications preferred.
WEATHER ANCHOR/REPORTER This is the primary Weekend Weather position with regular weekday weather fill-in for both morning and night shifts. Reporting and/or producing during the week is also probable. Candidate must follow the KIRO weather format and action plans as developed by the News Director, Executive Producers and Chief Meteorologist. The ability not only to forecast in a difficult weather market, but also the ability to communicate that forecast in a way the viewers will understand is a must.
PART TIME WEB PRODUCER
This individual will produce news, sports and entertainment content for kirotv.com. Will be responsible for writing and editing stories, producing images and video for the website. Will assist in the creation of special on-line sections, revenue generating content and e-mail newsletters. Must have excellent communication and writing skills, accurate data entry skills and HTML knowledge. Must be able to work in a lively newsroom atmosphere. Position requires 1-2 years website experience, 1-2 years television experience. Associate Degree preferred.

EXECUTIVE PRODUCER
Looking for an experienced news manager to lead our dayside news team to an even higher level of success. Must have good leadership and people skills. Must have good news judgment, strong producing skills, and know how to execute branding within a newscast. Must have experience working with veteran staff. Must be able to oversee a fast-paced newscast with emphasis on active live shots, breaking news, and high local story count. Must work closely with News Director, other daypart Executive Producers, and must also have an eye for maximizing unique web content. Must be able to work with daily topical producers as well.
SPECIAL PROJECTS PRODUCER
KIRO 7’s Consumer/Investigative unit is looking for someone who can play a role in all aspects of the unit, from researching stories, to writing them, both daily turns and in-depth stories. Superior writing skills are a must for this position with 2-5 years experience writing and producing in-depth stories required, and previous newscast experience preferred. In addition, strong editorial skills are needed to participate in the planning of special segments and stories. You must be able to produce a hard-hitting news story that has impact from start to finish. Bachelors degree required.
ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
KIRO-TV is now accepting applications for an experienced Account Executive to professionally sell KIRO-TV time inventory in the local marketplace to meet and exceed monthly sales goals. The KIRO Account Executive is enthusiastically focused on customer needs and customer success, while continuously striving to generate new revenue. KIRO offers an array of multi-media resources, such as kirotv.com and SeattleInsider.com and promotional opportunities to be developed for customer marketing programs. A proven track record of success creating and maintaining new customers is a must. Knowledge and experience selling airtime in conjunction with Internet and/or media is preferred. Candidate will be skilled at creating & delivering presentations in front of large groups and on-on-one with key decision-makers and will have excellent organizational/planning skills. Candidate must be proficient with the computer - Excel, PowerPoint, as well as the Internet. College degree with minimum two years related experience preferably in media sales or related business.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
KIRO TV seeks a Business Development Account Executive to work exclusively in area of new business and convergence marketing. Responsibilities include developing new advertisers by creating and selling multimedia advertising campaigns and non-traditional marketing models. Sales experience preferred with a proven ability to create, develop and close new businness, web and NTR. Candidate of choice will be creative, detail-oriented and able to deliver presentations in front of large groups and on-on-one with key decision-makers. Candidate must be proficient with the computer - Excel, PowerPoint, as well as the Internet.
