BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT ACCOUNT EXECUTIVE
KIRO TV seeks a Business Development Account Executive to work exclusively in area of new business and convergence marketing. Responsibilities include developing new advertisers by creating and selling multimedia advertising campaigns and non-traditional marketing models. Sales experience preferred with a proven ability to create, develop and close new business, web and NTR. Candidate of choice will be creative, detail-oriented and able to deliver presentations in front of large groups and on-on-one with key decision-makers. Candidate must be proficient with the computer - Excel, PowerPoint, as well as the Internet.
CREATIVE SERVICES DIRECTOR
KIRO-TV, the Seattle CBS affiliate, a Cox Media Group station, is seeking a creative services leader. We are looking for a brand strategist to help continue our news growth. As KIRO 7 Eyewitness News, we are a hard news station with a strong investigative push. We have had some ratings success with our positioning in this LPM market and won the RTDNA’s National Murrow for Overall Excellence. We want a hands-on manager who can produce timely, compelling promotion and is also able to see the big picture. So winning daily coverage and validating through tactical marketing are key concepts. A strong understanding of and ability to interpret broadcast ratings and station research are needed. On style, we expect the new CSD to inspire, drive and direct your team and be a visible and collaborative news partner. The ideal candidate will execute state of the art television/web marketing for on-air, online, print, and radio. Will require someone who has developed a marketing plan with a minimum of five years experience as a Promotion Manager or Creative Services Director. The station web site is www.kirotv.com. CLIENT SERVICE REPRESENTATIVE
This position provides support for the sales team and traffic department in the areas of interdepartmental relations, client services, computer data generation, general sales projections and overall administrative assistance. Qualifications include effective time management skills; close attention to detail; knowledge of software such as Word and Excel; and a professional appearance and attitude. Four-year degree in marketing or communications preferred.
FILL-IN ASSIGNMENT EDITOR
This individual will be responsible for overnight, day and/or night news coverage, especially breaking news. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: monitoring scanners, answering newsroom phones, making calls to police and fire depts., dispatching reporters and photographers, assisting producers and writers.
The assignment editor is required to write and post breaking news stories to the newsroom Web site, KIROTV.COM.
The assignment editor must work well with other managers in achieving newsroom goals. Qualified applicants must demonstrate leadership. Other requirements are the ability to multi-task, strong computer skills, good news judgment, and ability to clearly communicate. Experience on major market assignment desk and some college is preferred. Knowledge of the Puget Sound region’s geography, politics and history is a definite plus.
PRODUCER
KIRO-TV has an immediate opening for a creative, dynamic producer to join our news staff. This person must be able to take charge of a newscast, make strong news decisions and be able to coordinate many live shots and handle breaking news like a pro. This producer must be flexible and be able to write strong copy for TV and the web if necessary, coordinate with reporters and produce a newscast that is showcased. Qualified applicant should have a degree in broadcasting or related field and experience producing local television news. Send your tape and resume to the News Director.
FILL-IN PRODUCER
KIRO-TV has an immediate opening for a fill-in producer to join our news staff. This person must be able to take charge of a newscast, make strong news decisions and be able to coordinate many live shots and handle breaking news like a pro. This producer must be flexible and be able to write strong copy for TV and the web if necessary, coordinate with reporters and produce a newscast that is showcased. Qualified applicant should have a degree in broadcasting or related field and experience producing local television news. This is a temporary position. Schedule and hours will vary. LOCAL SALES MANAGER
KIRO-TV, the CBS affiliate in Seattle, WA is seeking an experienced sales leader with focus on creativity, employee engagement and solutions to lead a team of media Account Executives to exceed audience share of market and exceed revenue goals for all media platforms; television, internet, mobile, and digital channels. Manage all aspects of local sales including coaching and developing staff, creating and implementing new business sales packages, overseeing sales promotions, managing inventory, forecasting revenue and recruiting and retaining top sales Account Executives.
Responsibilities include recruiting, developing and motivating a local sales staff; Supervising local staff in negotiating, packaging and selling of station inventory; generating revenue for the station through increased shares of existing business, the addition of new business and the development of NTR business; developing and executing special projects and promotions; assist in accurately forecasting revenue throughout year & exceed quarterly & annual budget. Requires ability to build strong relationships with agencies and clients through strong verbal/written communication skills. Perform other duties as assigned by management. Periodic travel & entertainment is required.
Minimum of 4 years of television local sales management experience. Must have a proven track record of accomplishments and possess comprehensive communication and sales skills with the ability to develop effective solutions. Applicant must be an experienced leader and motivator with expertise in achieving and exceeding sales goals. Enthusiasm, passion, creativity and a strong background in agency business and new business development are a must. Must have proven ability to track and improve AE performance on an ongoing basis. Team player, an excellent problem-solver, and have the ability to develop, maintain, and grow client relationships. Computer literate, with a knowledge of various TV sales software systems, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel & Power Point required. College degree preferred.
