Rick VanCise joined KIRO 7 Eyewitness News in January of 2004 as weekday morning and noon meteorologist.

As a pilot and sailor, weather has always been important to Rick. Rick began his television career at Seattle’s KOMO-TV in 1995 as a news anchor, reporter, meteorologist and traffic anchor. He has also managed news departments at KOMO Radio in Seattle and KFBK Radio in Sacramento. Rick is board certified by the American Meteorological Society (AMS), and is a graduate of the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology Program.

He has lived in the Seattle area most of his life. Rick and his family reside in Issaquah, but get away often to their island cabin on Puget Sound. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, hiking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
