Weathercaster, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News

Rick VanCise joined KIRO 7 Eyewitness News in January of 2004. Rick is the weekend meteorologist, joining anchor Monique Ming Laven at 5, 6 and 11 on Saturdays and Sundays.

As a pilot and sailor, weather has always been important to Rick. He is also extremely familiar with the Seattle news market, beginning in 1981 as a news anchor, reporter and bureau chief for the award-winning KIRO Radio team. Rick began his television career at Seattle’s KOMO-TV in 1995 as a news anchor, reporter, meteorologist and traffic anchor. He has also managed news departments at KOMO Radio in Seattle and KFBK Radio in Sacramento. Rick has been awarded the Seal of Approval from the American Meteorological Society (AMS), and is a graduate of the Mississippi State University Broadcast Meteorology Program.

He has lived in the Seattle area most of his life. Rick and his family reside in Issaquah, but get away often to their island cabin on Puget Sound. In his spare time, he enjoys sailing, hiking, and exploring the Pacific Northwest.
