Bellevue Man Creates Program To Break Through ‘Great Firewall Of China’

BELLEVUE, Wash. -- The Chinese government is currently able to block and censor material available on the internet in China with what they call the “great firewall of China.”The great firewall currently blocks addresses of Web sites that criticize the government. Bennett Haselton, the creator of a program called Circumventor, is able to break through the great firewall, allowing internet users in China to full access to the web.Haselton, who calls himself a “contract computer hacker,” invented Circumventor to allow users to access an innocent-looking web address for a computer that can be used by hundreds.For more information about Circumventor visit the Circumventor Web site.
