Ferry Wenatchee Out Of Service After Hard Landing

Some ferry riders may expect delays Monday because of a hard landing on Sunday at the downtown Seattle dock the knocked the ferry Wenatchee out of service.

The ferry system has shuffled boats to maintain service on the busy Bainbridge Island route.

Bremerton is down to one vessel and capacity has been reduced on the Edmonds-Kingston run.

The ferry Wenatchee was on the 10:30 a.m. run on Sunday when it struck a portion of the dock, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The impact damaged part of the Wenatchee's bow and also the wing wall at the ferry dock.

Ferry spokeswoman Susan Harris said one person received minor injury due to the accident.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.

The ferry system is interviewing the crew and will administer drug tests to all crew members, she said.
