SEATTLE -- Parking in downtown Seattle is undergoing a big change.
Seattle Mayor Greg Nickels showed off new pay stations in Seattle's Pioneer Square Monday.New parking meters will be replacing the most of the old parking meters around downtown Seattle. The automated parking pay stations take plastic, so there's no more rummaging around under the car seat for quarters. One of the drawbacks is the price. It will cost a $1.50 for an hour of parking, but Mayor Nickels says it's the first parking meter increase in the city in ten years.
