Man Falls To His Death Onto I-5

A man was struck and killed when he fell onto Interstate 5 in downtown Seattle early Tuesday morning after he lost his grip on an overpass railing, KIRO 7 Eyewitness News reported.

The man and another man had been drinking, police said, and the two were competing to see who could hold on the longest.

The man fell onto I-5 near Olive Way and was hit by a truck at about 3 a.m.

The other man pulled himself up to safety.

The three righthand lanes of northbound I-5 were closed for over two hours while police investigated.
