Most rest areas along Washington state highways will become WiFi hot spots, the state Department of Transportation said Monday.

Road conditions and other traveler information on the WSDOT's Web site are available at no cost. Subscribers to Road Connect can visit other Web sites.

A new WSDOT partnership with Parsons Transportation Group and Road Connect Inc. provides wireless Internet access in 28 of 42 safety rest areas along Washington State highways.

Road Connect prices are $1.99 for 20 minutes, $3.99 for one day, $7.99 for one week and $29.99 for one month, according to the WSDOT Web site.

Road Connect currently offers wireless Internet service at rest areas in Texas, Oregon, Washington and Kansas.
