Burke Museum

The region's only major natural history museum, located on the campus of the University of Washington, features natural and artistic exhibits from the Pacific Northwest and around the Pacific Rim. Highlights include the area's only dinosaur skeleton, traditional totem poles, hand carved cedar canoes, and collections of gems, minerals, fossils, birds, beetles, and butterflies.

Hours:
Beginning May 1, 2003, the museum will be open daily 10 am - 5 pm. On the FIRST Thursday of each month, the museum will be open 10 am - 8 pm. Closed: January 1, July 4, Thanksgiving Day, December 25.

Admission:
Admission Rates (Effective September 1st, 2003 - March 25th, 2004)

General Museum Admission, including special exhibit Reverent Remembrance:
$6.50 general
$5 seniors
$3 students and youth

FREE to Burke Members, children 5 and under, UW staff/faculty/students Please note that there may be additional fees for special exhibits and programs. Free Admission - First Thursday Museum admission is free to the public on the first Thursday of each month, except for certain special exhibits and programs.

Directions
From I-5, exit east onto NE 45th Street. Travel east on NE 45th Street to 17th Avenue NE. Turn right onto 17th. The museum will be immediately on your right.
