Museum Of History And Industry
Nobody keeps the Pacific Northwest's history alive quite like the folks at the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI). With a museum library and archive that contains no less than 800,000 books, photographs, maps and manuscripts, they are the pioneers of preserving the area's rich past. The museum's collections include all variety of artifacts that take the visitor back in time: evening gowns, clocks, crosscut saws from the Northwest's lumber roots, gramophones, the giant "R" sign from the now caffeinated Rainier Brewery.Details: The museum is open daily from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. First Thursdays 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Closes early at 3:00 pm Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve, and is closed Thanksgiving Day and Christmas Day.MOHAI Members FREE
