China unveils world's longest high-speed rail link
This train will operate on the longest high speed-rail route in the world, halving the travel time between Beijing and Guangzhou. This high rate of rail development is overshadowed by concerns for safety, after a high-speed train crash killed 40 people last year. China needs billions more in rail investment for cargo transport, passenger transport and developing commuter lines in its mega-cities.
