Seattle Metropolitan Area
Weather Summary:
The StormTracker Doppler Radar is in what is called "Clear Air Mode". It is a normal mode of operation used when there is no signigicant precipitation. It is very, very sensitive and will detect minute echoes. So when you see the doppler with a lot of green echoes on it on a clear day, look closely, you may actually be observing temperature or wind boundaries!
Today will initially be a sunny day but a big wind shift will get underway in the afternoon which will bring more clouds and cooler temperatures. The wind shift will be from offshore to onshore which will usher in the moderating effect of the Pacific ocean. Our very warm airmass is moving east today after bringing us another warm pleasant day.
Sunday will be cooler with morning clouds and then some afternoon sun. A large trough of low pressure will bring even more clouds, cooler temperatures and some showers later Monday through Wedesday.
Saturday: Sunny to start the day with increasing high clouds late. The coast will have a much cloudier, cooler day. High 70s to low 80s.
Sunday: Morning clouds then partly sunny. Much cooler with the highs in the mid 60s to lower 70s.
Monday: More clouds and a chance of showers on the coast and north interior. Highs in the 60s.
Tuesday: Mostly cloudy with showers. Highs in the lower 60s.
Wednesday Through Thursday: Mostly cloudy. Highs in the mid 60s.
