Posted: 10:11 am PST December 9, 2007Updated: 10:43 am PST December 9, 2007

Light snow fell early Sunday over a wide area of the Western Washington lowlands as forecasters predicted accumulations of up to one inch.

Light snow falls in Kirkland on Sunday morning.

Viewers from Kirkland, Seattle, Lynnwood, Edmonds, Bellingham and other places called KIRO 7 Eyewitness News to report snow falling.

Roads were slick -- especially in the North Sound -- and numerous accidents were reported in Skagit and Whatcom counties.

Forecasters said a chance of snow flurries will continue until tonight. High temperatures will be in the upper 30s on Sunday, dipping into the 20s in some places overnight.
