SEATTLE -- Although the weekend brought warm weather, it also brought avalanche and river dangers. The water especially proved to be dangerous for some who ventured out into it.Two men are still missing Sunday after they went on into the Green River Saturday.
Two Men Missing On Green RiverNearly a dozen people were rescued from the freezing waters at Flaming Geyser State Park Saturday, which prompted the King County Sheriff’s Office to close the Cedar River and Green River to all recreational use. The rivers are closed until further notice because the waters are too high, too fast and too cold, said the sheriff’s office.Ceder And Green Rivers Closed To Recreational UseSix people were also rescued from their raft on the Nisqually River after they were trapped for more than four hours Saturday, said fire officials. Five of the six rescued are 19 years old and the other is 17, fire officials said.

High water remains to be an issue as minor flooding caused road closures along the Snoqualmie River, according to King County's roads department.A flood watch remains in effect through Monday afternoon for portions of western Washington including Skagit, Snohomish, King, Pierce and Lewis counties. A flood warning is in effect for the Nisqually River and Cowlitz River through Sunday night.Forecasters said the Skykomish River at Gold Bar had been rising fairly rapidly as flood stage there is 15 feet. A level reading at one point was at 13.43 feet. Forecasters said they were unsure if the river will actually reach flood stage.Crews will reevaluate the North Cascades Highway on Monday morning. The highway has been closed since Thursday because of avalanche dangers. If crews find significant slides on Monday, they said it could take several days to clean up.Cayuse Pass also remains closed until crews check the status of avalanche danger.Despite the possible dangers over the weekend, some parts achieved new high records.On Saturday, Bellingham beat an old record of 81 degrees set back in 1956 with a new high temperature of 82. Sea-Tac airport recorded a new high temperature of 88 degrees, breaking its record of 85 degrees set in 1956. Also Olympia tied its record of 90 degrees set back in 1956.
