Windy, Rainy Night Ahead

SEATTLE -- A cold front pushing through Western Washington is packing high winds and rain that should hit the region Friday evening through Saturday morning."We're getting ready for a windy and rainy night ahead," said Chief Meteorologist Rebecca Stevenson.Sustained winds of 30 to 35 mph with gusts to 55 mph are expected beginning late Monday afternoon.The National Weather Service has issued a wind advisory for the area from Everett west to Port Townsend and north to the Canadian border, including the San Juan Islands.In the western Strait of Juan de Fuca, a high wind warning is in effect until midnight for winds from 30 mph to 40 mph and gusts to 60 mph.Stevenson said the heaviest rain will begin in the north, developing around 10 p.m. and moving south though around 2 a.m.Scattered showers are expected on Saturday, with dry weather on Sunday.
