The final bricks in the primary and caucus schedule for the 2012 Presidential race are starting to fall into place, as Iowa has decided to hold its caucus voting on Tuesday January 3.
That now leaves the next move to New Hampshire, which has threatened to holds its first-in-the-nation primary as early as December, unhappy with the date chosen by the state of Nevada, which is slated for a caucus on Saturday January 14.
Part of New Hampshire's primary law states that no other state can have a similar contest within seven days of the Granite State's primary, so that would force New Hampshire to have its contest on Saturday January 7.
But the New Hampshire Secretary of State has been making lots of noise about how he's not happy with that, and it has led to several candidates boycotting campaign events here in Nevada, though only Jon Huntsman is boycotting this debate.
Several others though are refusing to campaign here in the Silver State - Romney is not, as he held a rally yesterday with backers.
"My friends in Las Vegas, you're so kind to me - thanks for turning out!" Romney said to cheers.
At this point, it's anyone's guess what New Hampshire is going to do in terms of scheduling that state's primary.
We could have Iowa on January 3 and then New Hampshire a week later on the 10th - but that would only be four days before Nevada.
Time to start making some reservations.
