A slightly better chance of showers this weekend

By Morgan Palmer

A bit of a change in the stagnant weather pattern is upon Western Washington for the next week as high pressure giving us a dry start to the month breaks down.

Some drizzle will be possible across the area today along with a few slightly heavier showers along the coast.  Most areas won't see more than a trace of rain today, but a greater benefit of the changing weather pattern is the end to the Air Stagnation Advisory for Western Washington.  Air quality will improve as onshore wind flow takes hold.

High temperatures today will be in the upper 30s to low 40s.

A very similar forecast is on deck for Sunday with a few showers and pockets of drizzle.  Very little overall rainfall accumulation is expected, however.

Monday will be a dry day before the next weak system brings light rain showers later Tuesday into Wednesday.

Mountain forecast: a few light snow showers today and tonight, ending early Sunday.  Accumulations will be light.  The next chance of light accumulations at the ski resorts will be late Tuesday through Wednesday.  No major mountain snows are expected this week.
