The weather stays tranquil for another day around Western Washington as a brief ridge of high pressure gives us a mix of clouds with some sunshine for Sunday.
We'll start out the day very cold. In fact, it'll be the coldest night of the season for many with low temperatures in the lowlands in the 30s. Sea-Tac has not reached sub-freezing temperatures so far this season, but the morning low is forecast to be 28 degrees.
There could be some patchy fog in spots, particularly in the south Sound and south interior. Where fog does form, there could be a thin layer of ice develop on the roadway early Sunday morning.
Sunday will feature partly cloudy skies, increasing clouds late and highs in the upper 30s and lower 40s.
Monday could begin with a little light snow in Hood Canal, while rain will overspread the area from west to east through the morning. Breezes will also pick up with a warm front, especially along the coast. Rainfall amounts could be up to one-half inch in the lowlands with much heavier amounts possible in the mountains.
On Tuesday, widespread rainfall is likely with strong winds and river flooding potentially becoming a significant issue. Exactly where the heaviest rainfall and strongest wind will be is not exactly clear at this point. However, residents around flood-prone rivers should stay alert to this upcoming stormy potential.
Rain will taper on Wednesday and Thanksgiving Day, though some showers are likely around the region.
