It was quite a storm just in time for the evening commute for some in Pierce and King counties Wednesday night.

A strong and persistent storm cell moved northeast through Tacoma, Fife, Federal Way, Renton, up I-405 through Kennydale and Eastgate before diminishing in the Cascades.

At times, lightning was produced and Chopper 7 reported hail in Federal Way.

Heavy rains produced some flooding in the Lake Hills section of Bellevue as the storm moved through.

Check out this timelapse produced during the late afternoon from KIRO 7's camera atop Queen Anne.  I have isolated frames as the storm moved south of Downtown Seattle.

The intervals are about every five minutes.

The cloud base becomes lower as air is shoved upward rapidly, cools and condenses.
