Snow levels rise while rain showers increase into Sunday

By Morgan Palmer

A weak warm front brushes Western Washington during the
day today with a few light showers, mainly across the
north coast, the islands and areas north of Arlington.

Elsewhere, the rain chance is quite low, but picks up a
bit in the late afternoon just before dark.

Highs today will be in the 40s to near 50.

Winds will be in the 5-15 mph range around the
lowlands, but a Small Craft Advisory is in effect for
the Puget Sound and a Gale Warning for Admiralty Inlet
and the Strait for increasing winds this afternoon.

Showers will move in after dark and overnight for the
Puget Sound, though amounts don't look heavy through
dawn.

Rain showers will be off-and-on for Sunday with about a
quarter-inch of rain in many locations.

Heavier rains will occur in the Olympics and along the
coast and the Skokomish River will rise to minor flood
levels (as forecast) by late Sunday.

Snow levels will rise from 4,000 feet this morning to
6,000 feet tonight. Areas around Mt. Baker will see 1-
2 feet of snow through tomorrow.

Monday and Tuesday will feature occasional showers and
falling snow levels.
