A large low pressure system in the northeast Pacific will send showers through Western Washington through the afternoon.

By far, southwest Washington and parts of the south Sound will get the heaviest rainfall today, but most locations will pick up additional precipitation this afternoon.

Hikers and campers in the Cascades -- especially near the crest -- should watch out for lightning through after the noon hour.

Rainfall amounts will average from .25" in the south to about .10" elsewhere through dark.

Highs will be in the lower-to-middle 60s.

As Saturday's disturbance continues to move north tonight away from the area, showers will taper.   Low clouds and fog will be prevalent, along with some areas of drizzle early on Sunday.

As Sunday morning wears on, additional breaks of sunshine will be seen.   However, with an unstable atmosphere, daytime heating from this sunshine will spark more afternoon showers.   They will be most numerous near mountains and foothills.

Sunday's highs will be in the upper 60s.

For Monday and Tuesday, Western Washington will see sunbreaks with occasional showers, especially nearer the mountains.

Highs stay cooler than normal -- in the 60s -- until Wednesday when more sunshine allows us to warm into the lower 70s in the lowlands.
