A weak and slowing cold front moving toward the Western Washington coast has produced a few showers in the Pacific coastal waters this morning and they will continue there through the day.  These showers will also affect western sections of the Olympics as the front makes very sluggish progress eastward.

Around the Sound, expect a mainly dry day with only a few pockets of nuisance drizzle through the afternoon, mainly south and west of Seattle.   Clouds will be abundant, though since the marine layer in place producing the cloud cover is fairly shallow, expect some breaks of sunshine to emerge as the afternoon progresses.

Highs will be in the upper 50s coast, islands and north to the lower 60s elsewhere in the lowlands.  The normal Seattle high temperature for today is 67 degrees.

The coastal front continues to push onshore overnight, stalling between the coast and the Cascades for Memorial Day.  This feature combined with an upper-level trough of low pressure (cold, more unstable pocket of air aloft) will help to enhance lift and give us a few light showers around the region for Monday.  Many areas do stay dry, and those areas that see rainfall will pick up just a few hundredths of an inch.  There will also be breaks of sunshine at times.  Highs will be in the mid 50s along the islands to near 60 elsewhere in the lowlands.

Subtle high pressure works in for Tuesday with a dry forecast and highs back in the 60s with some scattered sunshine.

Mainly cloudy skies and a few light showers are forecast for Wednesday and Thursday.
