A 20-year-old man has been arrested in the Federal Way shooting that killed one man and injured another, police said.

The shooting happened just before 1 a.m. at The Park at Dash Point apartments at Southwest 317th Lane and 50th Lane Southwest.

A 25-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. A 22-year-old man was taken to Auburn General Hospital and then transferred to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he remains in serious condition, police said.

Aliaksandr Rashchuk of Auburn has been arrested and will be booked into the King County Jail on investigation of first-degree murder, police said.

Investigators said that approximately 15 people had gathered in the parking lot area of the complex and a dispute ensued, leading to shooting. Detectives have not determined the reason for the gathering or the cause of the dispute.

Police are talking to witnesses to identify all the individuals and the circumstances involved in the shooting. The association between the individuals at the scene is still unknown.

Three firearms were recovered at the scene and one vehicle has been impounded for evidence, police said.

KIRO 7 has learned that the suspect pleaded guilty last year to shooting a neighbor's dog. The owner is suing the convicted dog shooter for $10,000 in damages.

Anyone with information regarding this shooting should call Detective Gregory Wells of the Federal Way Police Department at 253-835-6751 or call 911.
