Gang violence hit a Seafair tradition at a White Center festival leaving one teenager recovering in the hospital.

An eyewitness told KIRO 7 that the 15-year-old victim was headed to the White Center Jubilee Days festival Friday night when he was stopped by a group of teens who started a fight with him. The witness called 911.

Gang unit Detective Todd Miller said when he arrived he found the teen had been stabbed twice, once in the arm and back.

The teen was taken to Harborview Medical Center with non-life-threatening injuries.

Gang members scattered, but police were able to arrest two young men they believe to be involved in the incident.

Police said the victim was not a gang member, but that his attackers are.

“This can happen most anywhere as we have seen with recent violence in Kent, Renton and the city of Seattle. This is still a family event, still a very safe place for people to go,” Miller said.

White Center Jubilee Days runs through Sunday.
