OLYMPIA, Wash. — An 11-year-old girl was airlifted to a hospital after she fell from a zip line tower in Olympia Sunday afternoon.

Olympia firefighters said they were called to a report that the girl had fallen at the Westwood Baptist Church, on the corner of Kaiser Road NW and Mud Bay Road NW in west Olympia, at about 3:30 p.m.

She had fallen about 30 feet.

The church had just finished a week of activities for children.

Bystanders, including off-duty firefighters, stabilized the girl until fire units arrived.

Although she was conscious and able to speak to medics, due to the nature of her potential injuries and northbound traffic conditions, she was airlifted to Mary Bridge Children's Hospital.
